Permaculture design

Using Nature's Designs to Create Abundance

What is Permaculture Design?

Permaculture is a system that allows us to organize the processes and functions of nature in such a way that gives us absolute abundance on our properties.  Through using plants, animals, aquaculture, and even some dirt work, we can set up a system on your property that produces and abundance of food, year after year.  Our expert permaculture designers will take you step by step through this process, and give your property absolute abundance and fertility for generations to come.
Permaculture is an investment in yourself, and in your future.  Our designs will not only create abundance that will provide with you food, water, and even power security, but will also increase the value of your property substantially, should you ever want to sell it.

Designed for Your Future

Food Forests (Forest Gardens)

Permaculture Food Forest
Imagine walking through the woods, and realizing that nearly all of the trees around you have a function that's beneficial to either you, or your food.  Imagine walking through the woods on your property, and having it be rich, vibrant, and full of FOOD.  Citrus, peaches, pears, figs, cherries, plums, and many other varieties of perennial food.  Imagine looking on the ground, and seeing sweet potato vines growing from last season....with edge plantings of shallots, and other onions.  This is your reality with a permaculture design.  We can turn your property into a lush oasis of food and abundance, giving your family food and water security in any drought or crisis.

Animal Systems

Animals in Permaculture
As a part of nature, with many beneficial functions, animals can be and are an integral part of permaculture design.
Chickens, for example, provide a garbage disposal for your kitchen scraps and waste, then turn your garbage into eggs and very high quality fertilizer.  Edged against a greenhouse they can provide winter heat to the greenhouse, extending a growing season considerably.  They can turn a patch of grass into a well fertilized seed, weed, and pest free environment to start a food forest.  Then, when it's all said and done, they provide meat if you choose to eat them.
Rabbits provide fertilizer, meat, and pelts.
Guinea hens are excellent watch dogs, and keep your environment tick and snake free.  Cattle provide many functions in permaculture with dairy, meat, and manure being just a few.  Ducks eat bugs and slugs, leaving your crops alone.
We can go on forever, and we can make your design as simple or as integrated and complex as you like.  More integration in permaculture can mean less work, or more work, depending what you consider to be work.

Food Security

When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, it left our communities completely devastated.  Many people had to rely on F.E.M.A. and the Red Cross to supply food and drinking water, as the roads were shut down and power was out.  Access in and out of cities was nearly impossible, traffic was horrible, and it was just an all around bad situation.  With a permaculture design, we can take your unused land, and develop it into a serene garden setting that will provide you food year after year, even with very little work.  Our designs can give you food and water abundance, in case of an emergency.

Table Ready

With a permaculture design, you can literally walk outside of your home, and come back in with a complete meal.  Whether you want fish, chicken, ducks, eggs, or just vegetables, we can put together a complete design that will feed your family, rain or shine, winter or summer, all 100% table ready food, grown on your own property, and in many cases with little to no extra work on your part.
